The 9pm pantry thing isn't a willpower issue!

Hey Reader,

Can we talk about the 9pm pantry thing?

You know the one. You ate "perfectly" all day. Maybe you were even proud of yourself. And then somehow you're standing in front of the open pantry, eating straight out of the bag, wondering what happened to all that willpower you had at 8am.

Here's what I need you to hear: you're not broken, and you're not lacking willpower.

Nighttime bingeing almost always comes down to one of three things, and none of them are a character flaw. One of the biggest ones? Your body doesn't actually know the difference between "I'm on a diet" and "there's a famine." It just knows it didn't get enough today, and by evening, it's going to make sure it gets enough one way or another.

I broke down all three causes (and what actually helps, besides just "trying harder") in this week's blog post: Why Do I Binge Eat at Night?

Before you go, I'd love to know: what's YOUR pattern? Is it the under-eating-all-day thing, the stress-eating thing, or something else entirely? Just hit reply and tell me - I read every single one, and it genuinely helps me know what to write about next.

⚡️If this one hits close to home, I made something for exactly this moment: a free 5-minute Emotional Eating Check-In Guide. It's a simple, judgment-free way to pause and ask what you actually need before you're on autopilot reaching for food.
